ASSISTING PRIEST

Fr. John was born in Houston, Texas where he spent the majority of his life until relocating to Sisters following his retirement at the end of 2005. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts and received a Master of Arts from Oklahoma State University.

Following completion of his master’s degree, he ultimately returned to Houston where for thirty years he served as a human resources executive for an international oil service company. Upon relocating to Sisters, he became a member of the Church of the Transfiguration in early 2006 where he went on the serve as a co-chair for the stewardship campaign, a Eucharist Assistant as well as a Eucharistic Visitor.

He also served on the Vestry and as a Senior Warden.  In 2011, he began discernment for a call to the priesthood which ultimately led to his ordination to the priesthood in June of 2015. Following his ordination to the priesthood, Fr. John served as a curate at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bend, splitting his time between Trinity and Transfiguration. In 2018, Fr. John became the Associate Priest at Transfiguration where he serves today as Priest In Charge.
